"Invitation to Catch the Wave"
A Transform 2010 Regional Summit

Minnesota is about to experience a permanent shift in the age of our population. We have always aged as individuals, but for the first time in history, we will age as a society, and the effects will be profound. Transform 2010 is a project that seeks to heighten the sense of urgency to transform policies, infrastructures, and services within all sectors to prepare for Minnesota’s age wave.

Regional summits will be held this fall to provide information and ideas that will motivate individuals, community leaders, businesses, providers and elected officials to take action and transform their organizations and communities to prepare for the aging of Minnesota. Upcoming summits include:

Minneapolis
Tuesday, October 16, 2007
1:00 pm – 3:30 pm
Presbyterian Homes of Bloomington
9889 Penn Avenue South, Minneapolis, MN

Bemidji
Friday, October 19, 2007
10:00 am – 12:30 pm
Hampton Inn
1019 Paul Bunyan Drive South, Bemidji, MN

At each summit, Loren Coleman, Assistant Commissioner, Continuing Care Administration, MN Department of Human Services, will present the Blueprint for 2010, a plan to prepare Minnesota for the dramatic demographic shifts that will begin in 2011, when the first baby boomers turn 65. The program will also highlight local organizations that have already taken steps to prepare for this shift. Each summit attendee will also receive a copy of the Blueprint for 2010, a series of fact sheets on ways to take action, and more.

REGISTRATION IS FREE but seating is limited. Visit www.dhs.state.mn.us/2010 for further information and registration details.
