Who we serve
Entrepreneur Fund customers are
primarily people who are economically
disadvantaged by virtue of gender, race,
income, or place. The Entrepreneur Fund
encourages self-sufficiency by creating an
environment that fosters the growth of
independence and self-determination. We
recognize that self-sufficiency is
self-defined and that personal goals change
over time. Economic self-sufficiency
assumes that sufficient income is generated
through one or more sources for the individual
or family to provide for their basic financial
needs without government support. We
seek to contribute to the creation of
businesses that provide sustaining wage jobs
and benefits for the owners and their
employees.
The Entrepreneur Fund is a national leader in
the field of microenterprise and small
business development. While our main
focus continues to be northeastern Minnesota
and northwestern Wisconsin, we continue to see
our role outside the region growing, through
our role as an advocate for our customers and
small business development, teacher, trainer,
innovator, and learning organization.
