Our service area includes Aitkin,
Carlton, Cass, Cook, Crow Wing, Itasca,
Koochiching, Lake, Pine, and St. Louis
counties in Minnesota and Douglas
County in Wisconsin.
Your business must be located in our service
area (listed above), and you must live in one of the
above counties or in an adjacent county to be eligible to
participate in our services. You may also be eligible for scholarships, tuition
reimbursement or income-eligible fee reductions.
If you or your business are or will be outside the region and the counties listed above, you are only eligible to take our
CORE FOUR® Business Planning Courses
at the normal course fee. You are not eligible
for any other services. This is because our
funding sources have agreed only to fund our
services in the specific geographic area described.
We are a
character-based Lender
We assess the feasibility and viability
of the business, the commitment and
capability of the business owner, and the
collateral offered when we are determining
whether to give a loan. We may meet
with prospective borrowers on several
occasions to discuss their business plan,
and will conduct a comprehensive final
review before presentation to our Loan
Committee. Prospective borrowers who
have not previously owned a business or who
are starting a business, are required to
demonstrate knowledge in business related
areas. These prospective borrowers may
be required to attend our CORE FOUR® Business
Planning Courses or other workshops, as
determined by an Entrepreneur Fund Business
Developer.
