Baby’s on Broadway ;  Little Falls, MN

Little Falls, a small rural town in Central Minnesota located along the Mississippi River may not seem the like most obvious place for “Minnesota’s one-stop baby shop”, but that’s exactly how Adelle Starin describes her business, Baby’s on Broadway, which has recently hit $1 million in sales. Baby’s on Broadway encompasses everything a new mom will need on her journey to motherhood.

In 2007 as a new mom herself, Adelle struggled to find high-quality baby products that were available locally. In 2013, after doing years of doing research for herself she decided to take the leap and open a small storefront in Little Falls, Minnesota. She started selling at small craft fairs and within the first year they had doubled their projections.

As Baby’s on Broadway continued to grow Adelle began to work with the Entrepreneur Fund in 2016 to expand her storefront by acquiring the toy store next-door. When asked about her relationship with the Entrepreneur Fund Adelle responded, “The Entrepreneur Fund has been an integral part of my growth. Working with that team is incredibly easy and seamless and they are really there to help small businesses in rural areas. I’ve never seen anything like it before. From start to finish the process is seamless and they understand your business and what you’re going through. Sandy has been there to mentor along the way and she’s local so it’s easy to connect.”

Adelle approached the Entrepreneur Fund again in early 2020 about financing her business expansion to acquire necessary licenses to bill insurance for medical breast pump equipment and consulting. Those licenses have enabled Baby’s on Broadway to become a durable medical equipment provider on a national scale. “Because I found the Entrepreneurship Fund it has opened possibilities that I never would have had. The growth that we are experiencing is exponential and I’m not financeable in traditional bank means. Without their support we would have had to scale back our business instead of continuing our growth and there’s no doubt in her mind about that.”

Adelle’s vision is to create a safe space for moms to get an honest, helpful opinion on baby products that fit their lifestyle. What asked about what is next, she replied that she feels the possibilities are endless.
